YCM is a leading mold prevention and management company based in Taiwan. They provide anti-mold stickers for sports footwear(usually found in shoe boxes to protect shoes during the transit from factory to retail) and work with major shoe brands like Nike, PUMA and New Balance.
Over the years, they’ve continuously built on their technology and are in a position to scale further to become the global market leader. However, they are not well-known beyond the sports footwear industry, so they need to figure out how to best allocate resources and chart their growth.
Binomial helped them develop an ambitious 5-yearstrategic framework which included the launch of new services and standards, expansion into new geographic markets, and the introduction of a new subscription-based revenue model. Once the strategy has been developed and implementation was underway, it was time to reap the benefits by refreshing their brand identity for a global audience.
Our comprehensive rebranding journey began with YCM’s existing customers, whom we engaged to understand their perception sand expectations. For an enemy that is invisible till it’s too late, it was critical for the brand to communicate YCM’s data and science-based approach towards mold prevention and management as a key differentiator that truly provides peace of mind for customers. Leveraging their track record with satisfied brand name customers like Nike is also a critical ingredient in establishing their global authority.
With the key insights, we developed their brand promise around being a global mold authority providing peace of mind through their comprehensive science-based solutions. To back up the brand, we organised their solutions into three parts: products (stickers), services (mold audit), and standards (their proprietary Good Mold Prevention Practices). Their go-to-market efforts also highlighted their usage of IoT in mold monitoring and AI in their 3-second mold identification service.
